Ember Silence is a powerful contemporary portrait exploring the quiet strength that can exist beneath the surface.

A woman turns inward, her face captured in deep charcoal, cool grey and shadow, while intense oranges and reds surround her like living heat. Her sweeping hat and flowing hair become almost indistinguishable from the fiery background, creating a sense of movement, transformation and contained emotion.

For me, the work speaks about those moments when everything inside us is changing, even though nothing appears to be happening from the outside. Sometimes strength is loud. Sometimes it is simply the decision to remain standing, to breathe, and to continue.
