I make because I simply love the process of creating something from nothing. I love watching an idea slowly take shape, sometimes becoming something completely different from what I first imagined. There is something wonderfully absorbing about losing myself in colour, lines, faces and marks, and seeing where they lead. Making gives me a space to experiment, to play, and occasionally to surprise myself. I don't always know what I am looking for when I begin, but that is part of the joy. The canvas keeps asking, what happens if…? and I keep coming back to find out.
